As a result of Porter County’s COVID-19 Alert Level change to Orange Status and guidance from the Porter County Health Department, Valparaiso Community Schools operations will align to the Orange Status protocols in the updated Return to Learn plan effective today, January 29, 2021. Please note, this status change will impact extracurricular events and does not affect health and safety protocols in the schoolhouse.
We anticipate that as of tomorrow the Indiana State Health Department’s dashboard will be updated to show Porter County to be in Red status. The Porter County COVID Alert Level has already been updated to Red status as a result of the Weekly Cases per 100,000 Residents (902) and the 7-Day All Tests Positivity Rate (16.3%). The Valparaiso Community Schools Board of Trustees met on Friday, September 25, 2020 for a special meeting where they approved the appointment of Dr. Jim McCall to lead Valparaiso Community Schools as superintendent.
Due to overnight snow accumulation and current road conditions, Valparaiso Community Schools will be closed Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
The Valparaiso Community Schools will be IN SESSION and ON TIME on Friday, February 5, 2021 based on favorable road conditions.
